Removal And Installation: Left

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to COOLING/STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the air cleaner and ducts. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. Open the clip (1a) and disconnect the quick connector for the fuel vapor inlet pipe to the right intake manifold (1b).
  5. Open the clip (2a) and disconnect the quick connector for the fuel vapor inlet pipe to the left intake manifold (2b).

  6. Remove the screws (1a) and position the sound generator (1b) aside.

  7. Disconnect the wire harness connector (1) for the right cylinder head fuel pressure regulator sensor.
  8. Remove the screws (2a), disconnect the oil vapor diverter valve (2b) from the intake manifold and move it aside complete with pipes.

  9. Remove the screw (1a) securing the water return rigid pipe support bracket from the heater (1b).

  10. Remove the screws (1a) and disconnect the water return pipes to the thermostat (1b) along with the degassing pipe (1c).
  11. Remove the screw and move the electric connection support bracket of the right cylinder head fuel pressure sensor (2).
  12. Move the previously disconnected pipes aside.

  13. Disconnect the wire harness connector (1) for the left cylinder head fuel pressure regulator sensor.

  14. Remove the screw (1) and release the left cylinder head fuel pressure sensor connector retaining bracket.

  15. Loosen and remove the left cylinder head fuel pressure sensor (1a), complete with connector bracket (1b).

  16. Disengage the clip (1a) to release bracket (1b) from the connector (1c).

INSTALLATION 

  1. Engage the bracket on the left cylinder head fuel pressure sensor connector engaging the respective clip.

  2. Place the left cylinder head fuel pressure sensor (1) in its housing and tighten it to the proper torque specification. Refer to appropriate service information .
  3. Engage the left cylinder head fuel pressure sensor connector retaining bracket and securely tighten the screw.
  4. Connect the electrical connection for the left cylinder head fuel pressure regulator sensor.
  5. Install the right cylinder head fuel pressure sensor bracket in its housing and securely tighten the screw.
  6. Connect the coolant return pipes to the thermostat provided with a new O-ring, the degassing pipe and securely tighten the retaining screws.
  7. Securely tighten the retaining screw of the coolant return pipe support bracket to the heater.
  8. Connect the oil vapor diverter valve, complete with new O-ring and respective pipes to the intake manifold and securely tighten the screws.
  9. Connect the electrical connection for the right cylinder head fuel pressure regulator sensor.
  10. Place the sound generator in its housing and tighten the respective fastening screws.
  11. Engage the quick connectors of the fuel vapor supply pipes to the right and left intake manifold and close the intermediate retaining clips.
  12. Install the air cleaner and ducts. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  13. Fill the cooling system. Refer to COOLING/STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  14. Connect the negative battery cable.
