Left Exhaust VARIATOR Valve

REMOVAL 

1. Remove the left camshaft chain tensioning arm. Refer to GUIDES, TIMING CHAIN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

2. Remove the left-handed bolt (1a) and the exhaust phase variator (1b), with washer (1c).

   NOTE:

   The letters "SCA" (a) are etched on the rear of the exhaust camshaft phase variator.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the exhaust phase variator (1a) with a NEW  washer and tighten the left-handed bolt (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
2. Install the left camshaft chain tensioning arm. Refer to GUIDES, TIMING CHAIN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
