Right Turbocharger Exhaust Gas Outlet Pipe

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the powertrain assembly and suspension crossmember from the vehicle. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
4. Remove the engine and transmission from the suspension crossmember. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
5. Remove the right side turbocharger heat shield. Refer to TURBOCHARGER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

6. Remove the bolt (1a) from the collar (1b) of the right catalytic converter (1c).

7. Open the retaining clips (1a) and disengage the oxygen sensor wiring (1b).

8. Remove the bracket bolts (1a) and remove the right catalytic converter (1b).

9. Remove the nuts (1a) and remove the right turbocharger exhaust gas outlet pipe (1b).
10. Remove the seal (2) from the studs of the turbocharger.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the seal on the studs of the turbocharger.
2. Install the right turbocharger exhaust gas outlet pipe (1a) and tighten the new nuts (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

3. Install the catalytic converter and orient the collar markings "a" with the weld spot "b" on the catalytic converter. Hand tighten the collar bolt.

4. Install the support bracket bolts (1a) for the right catalytic converter (1b) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

5. Position the oxygen sensor wiring (1a) and close the retaining clips (1b).

6. Tighten the bolt (1a) for the collar (1b) securing the catalytic converter (1c) to the turbocharger to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
7. Install the right side turbocharger heat shield. Refer to TURBOCHARGER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
8. Install the engine and transmission to the suspension crossmember. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
9. Install the powertrain assembly and suspension crossmember to the vehicle. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
10. Connect the negative battery cable.
11. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
