Right Side

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the powertrain assembly and suspension crossmember from the vehicle. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
4. Remove the engine and transmission from the suspension crossmember. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
5. Remove the right side turbocharger heat shield. Refer to TURBOCHARGER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

6. Remove the bolt (1a), turbocharger side, and disconnect the engine coolant supply pipes to the right turbocharger (1b).

7. Remove the bolt (1a), engine side, and remove the engine coolant pipe to the right turbocharger (1b), complete with O-rings (1c) and (1d).

8. Open the clips (1a) and disengage the oxygen sensor wiring (1b).

9. Remove the bolts (1a), turbocharger side, and remove the turbocharger engine oil return pipe (1b).

10. Remove the bolt (1a), engine side, and remove the engine oil return pipe from turbocharger (1b), complete with seal (1c) and O-ring (1d).

11. Disconnect the engine coolant return pipe (1) from the turbocharger.

12. Open the band (1) and disconnect the vacuum air pipe from the Wastegate valve.

13. Remove the nuts (1a) and (1b) and disconnect the inlet/outlet pipes from the turbocharger (1c) and (1d).

14. Remove the bolt (1) from the vacuum air pipes support bracket.

17. Remove the metal gaskets (1) from the cylinder head.

20. Remove the bolt (1a) and remove the turbocharger oil delivery pipe (1b), complete with O-rings (1c) and (1d).

INSTALLATION

1. Position the right turbocharger and exhaust manifold assembly (1) in a vice fitted with protective jaws.

2. Install the engine oil pipe to the turbocharger (1a), complete with O-rings, and tighten the bolt (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

3. Install the exhaust gas outlet connector (1a) complete with gasket and tighten the new nuts (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

4. Remove the right turbocharger and exhaust manifold assembly (1) from the vice.

6. Install the right turbocharger and exhaust manifold assembly (1a) and tighten the new nuts (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

7. Install the engine oil supply pipe to the turbocharger (1a) and tighten the bolt (1b), engine side, to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

8. Securely tighten the vacuum air pipes support bracket bolt (1).

9. Install the air inlet and outlet pipes to the turbocharger (1a) and (1b) and tighten the bolts (1c) and (1d) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

10. Install the air vacuum pipe to the Wastegate valve and tighten the band clamp (1).

12. Install the turbocharger engine oil return pipe (1a), complete with gasket and O-ring and tighten the bolt (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

13. Tighten the turbocharger engine oil return pipe to turbocharger bolts (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

14. Position the oxygen sensor wiring (1a) and close the retaining clips (1b).

15. Install the right turbocharger engine coolant pipe (1a), complete with O-rings, and tighten the bolt (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

17. Install the right side turbocharger heat shield. Refer to TURBOCHARGER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
18. Install the engine and transmission to the suspension crossmember. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
19. Install the powertrain assembly and suspension crossmember to the vehicle. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
20. Connect the negative battery cable.
21. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
