Removal Of Engine And Transmission From The Suspension CROSSMEMBER

REMOVAL

  1. Remove the bolts (1a) and remove the left half shaft (1b).

  2. With a suitable tool (1a), release the right-hand side half shaft (1b) from the differential then remove it.

  3. Disconnect the wire harness connection (1) for the by-pass solenoid valve, left-hand side.

  4. Disconnect the wire harness connection (1) for the by-pass solenoid valve, right-hand side.

  5. Disconnect the wire harness connection (1) of the turbocharger air cooling system coolant pump.

  6. Disconnect the quick couplings (1) of the coolant inlet and outlet pipes of the turbocharger air-water heat exchanger.

  7. Disconnect the quick couplings (1) of the coolant inlet and outlet pipes of the turbocharger air-water heat exchanger.

  8. Remove the bolts (1) of the mounting brackets of the coolant inlet and outlet pipes of the supercharger air-water heat exchanger.

  9. Remove the bolts (1) of the bracket securing the turbocharger air cooling system coolant pump to the front suspension crossmember.

  10. Remove the bolt (1a) and remove the supercharger coolant pipes (1b) together with the coolant pump.

  11. Remove the bolts (1a) and remove the oil inlet pipe (1b).

  12. Install the (special tool #2024300090, Brackets, Engine Lifting) (1) on the left and right cylinder head.

  13. Support the powertrain with a suitable hydraulic lift (1).

  14. Remove the right engine mount nut (1).
  15. Carry out the same steps for the left side.

  16. Lift the powertrain (1) to disengage it from the suspension crossmember and place it on a suitable support.
  17. Remove the tools used for lifting the power unit.

INSTALLATION 

  1. Using the tools used for removing, lift the power unit and position it on the suspension crossmember taking care to engage the engine mounting pins into their respective holes on the engine mount support brackets.

  2. Tighten the nut (1) securing the engine mount bracket to the right engine mount insulator to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Carry out the same steps for the left side.

  4. Install the oil inlet pipe (1a) and tighten the bolts (1b) to the proper. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  5. Install the turbocharger coolant pipes (1a) together with the coolant pump and securely tighten the bracket bolt (1b).

  6. Tighten the bracket bolts (1) securing the turbocharger air cooling system coolant pump to the front suspension crossmember.

  7. Securely tighten the bolts (1) of the mounting brackets of the coolant inlet and outlet pipes of the supercharger air-water heat exchanger.

  8. Connect the quick couplings (1) of the coolant inlet and outlet pipes of the turbocharger air-water heat exchanger.

  9. Connect the quick couplings (1) of the coolant inlet and outlet pipes of the turbocharger air-water heat exchanger.

  10. Connect the wire harness connection (1) of the turbocharger air cooling system coolant pump.

  11. Connect the wire harness connection (1) for the by-pass solenoid valve, right-hand side

  12. Connect the wire harness connection (1) for the by-pass solenoid valve, left-hand side.

  13. Install the front right half shaft (1) and connect it to the front differential.

  14. Install the left front haft shaft (1a), engaging the aligner bushing, and tighten the bolts (1b) of the bearing mounting to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  15. Remove the tools used for lifting the power unit.
