Deactivation Solenoid Valve Cylinder 1 Exhaust Side

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the right air cleaner outlet tube. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the left cylinder head ignition coil. Refer to COIL, IGNITION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. Remove the bolt securing the engine oil dipstick tube.

  5. Disconnect the cylinder 1 deactivation solenoid valve wire harness connector (1a), exhaust side. Remove the bolts (1b) and the solenoid valve flange (1c).

  6. Using a suitable tool (1a), remove the cylinder 1 deactivation solenoid valve, exhaust side (1b), complete with O-rings (1c).

INSTALLATION 

  1. Install the cylinder 1 deactivation solenoid valve, exhaust side, back in its housing, complete with O-rings.
  2. Install the solenoid valve flange and securely tighten the bolts.
  3. Connect the cylinder 1 deactivation solenoid valve wire harness connector, exhaust side.
  4. Install the engine oil dipstick tube bolt and securely tighten.
  5. Install the left cylinder head ignition coil. Refer to COIL, IGNITION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Install the right air cleaner outlet tube. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
