Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the engine oil. Refer to OIL, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the front suspension crossmember. Refer to CROSSMEMBER, FRONT SUSPENSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. Remove the bolts (1a) and the oil pan (1b).
  5. Remove the gasket (1c).

  6. Remove the bolts (1a) and the splash baffle (1b).
  7. Remove the bolts and the oil level sensor.

INSTALLATION 

  1. Install the oil level sensor and tighten the bolts to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  2. Install the splash baffle (1a) and tighten the bolts (1b) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install a NEW  oil pan gasket.

  4. Install the oil pan (1a) with gasket and tighten the bolts (1b) finger tight.

  5. Using the tightening shown in illustration, tighten the bolts to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Install the front suspension crossmember. Refer to CROSSMEMBER, FRONT SUSPENSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  7. Replace the oil filter and fill the engine with the specified type and amount of oil. Refer to OIL, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
