Description And Operation
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
The vacuum system uses a pump and reservoir to maintain and supply constant vacuum for the function of these components:
- The turbochargers' Wastegate actuators.
- Exhaust bypass actuators.
The system consists of the following components:
- 1 - Vacuum reservoir.
- 2 - Vacuum pump connected to the exhaust camshaft on the left bank.
- 3 - Vacuum pump reservoir connecting pipe.
The vacuum pump is driven by the left bank exhaust camshaft using an Oldham coupling.
The vacuum pump creates a vacuum of about 9 inHg.
- 1 - Link connection.
- 2 - The oil entry hole for lubrication with filter.
The vacuum's accumulation reservoir is plastic and has an internal volume of about 1280 cm3. Its thickness is 2.5 mm. Its weight is 280g. It is placed under the left front wheel arch.
- 1 - Pipe connection fitting to the vacuum pump.
- 2 - Pipe connection fitting to the Wastegate solenoid valve.
