Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

2. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolt (1a), from the fluid cooler bracket (1b).

3. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolt (1) and remove the transmission cooler tubes (2) from the transmission.

4. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolt (1).

5. Remove the thermal bypass valve bracket bolts (1a).
6. Remove the radiator air inlet upper duct. Refer to DUCT, RADIATOR AIR INLET, UPPER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

7. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube bolts (1a) from the transmission fluid cooler.

8. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolt (1).

9. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes (1a) from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION

1. Position the transmission fluid cooler tubes (1a) in place.

2. Install the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolt (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

3. Install the transmission fluid cooler tube bolts (1a) on the transmission fluid cooler and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
4. Install the radiator air inlet upper duct. Refer to DUCT, RADIATOR AIR INLET, UPPER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

5. Install the thermal bypass valve bracket bolts (1a) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

6. Install the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolt (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

7. Install the transmission fluid cooler tubes (2) on the transmission and install the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolt (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

8. Position the transmission fluid cooler tubes (2) in place, install the fluid cooler tube bracket (1b), install the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolt (1a) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
9. Fill the transmission with the specified transmission fluid. Refer to appropriate diagnostic information .
