Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  3. Drain the high temperature (HT) cooling system. Refer to COOLING/STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. Remove the primary low temperature (LT) radiator. Refer to RADIATOR, LOW TEMPERATURE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .

  5. Release the retaining clip and remove the water supply hose quick coupling (1) from the radiator.

  6. Release the retaining clip and remove the water outlet hose quick coupling (1) from the radiator.

  7. Release the retaining clip and remove the coolant inlet hose quick coupling (1) from the rigid coolant supply pipe.

  8. Disengage the fuel vapor hose from the retaining clips (1).

  9. Release the retaining clip and remove the coolant outlet hose quick coupling (1) from the rigid coolant supply pipe.

  10. Use the (special tool #C-4829A, Remover, Trim) (1a) to release the wiring retaining clips (1).
  11. Disconnect the air pressure/temperature wire harness connectors (2) and reposition the wire harness.

  12. Disconnect the cooling fan wire harness connector (1).

  13. Remove the bolt from the transmission cooling lines support bracket (1).

  14. Remove the bolts (1a) from the right radiator support mount (1b).

  15. Release the lower locating pins from the radiator support mounts and remove the radiator (1).

  16. Remove the radiator support mount (1).

  17. Remove the bolts (1a) and remove the lower air deflector (1b) from the cooling fan shroud.

  18. Release the retaining clips (1a) and remove the cooling fan (1b) from the radiator.

  19. Remove the bolts (1a) and remove the rigid coolant supply pipe (1b).

INSTALLATION

  1. Install the rigid coolant supply pipe (1a) on the fan shroud and securely tighen he bolts (1b).

  2. Install the cooling fan on the radiator and engage the retaining clips (1).

  3. Install the lower air deflector (1a) onto the cooling fan shroud and securely tighten the bolts (1b).

  4. Install the radiator and engage the lower locating pins in the radiator support mounts.
  5. On both sides, insert a suitable tool (spacer) at the point indicated in the figure (1) to obtain a 9 mm gap between the bracket and the radiator.

  6. Install the right radiator support mount (1b) and securely tighten the bolts (1a).

  7. Install the transmission cooling lines support bracket and securely tighten the bolt (1).

  8. Connect the cooling fan wire harness connector (1).

  9. Connect the air pressure/temperature wire harness connectors (1).
  10. Engage the wiring retainers (2).

  11. Connect the coolant outlet hose quick coupling (1) to the rigid coolant supply pipe and engage the retaining clip.

  12. Engage the fuel vapor hose to the retaining clips (1).

  13. Connect the coolant inlet hose quick coupling (1) to the rigid coolant supply pipe and engage the retaining clip.

  14. Connect the water outlet hose quick coupling (1) to the radiator and engage the retaining clip.

  15. Connect the water supply hose quick coupling (1) to the radiator and engage the retaining clip.
  16. Install the primary low temperature (LT) radiator. Refer to RADIATOR, LOW TEMPERATURE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  .
  17. Fill the high temperature (HT) cooling system. Refer to COOLING/STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  18. Connect the negative battery cable.
  19. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
