Heat Shield Between Exhaust Pipe And Boot/Floor

REMOVAL 

1. Remove the rear muffler heat shield. Refer to SHIELD, HEAT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

2. Working in front of the rear exhaust muffler (1a), undo the nut (1b) and remove the bracket (1c).
3. Release the retainers (2a) for the heat shield (2b) using the (special tool #C-4829A, Remover, Trim) tool.
4. Remove the heat shield (2b).

INSTALLATION

1. Check that the heat shield (1) is not damaged.
2. Install the heat shield (1).
3. Engage the retainers (2a) for the heat shield (1).
4. Install the bracket (3a) and securely tighten the nut (3b).
5. Install the rear muffler heat shield. Refer to SHIELD, HEAT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
