Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Perform any Service Bulletins that may apply.
    2. Turn the ignition on.
    3. With the scan tool, read ABS DTCs and record on the vehicle repair order.
    4. With the scan tool, erase ABS DTCs.
    5. Cycle the ignition from off to on.
    6. Press and hold the brake pedal.
    7. Push the EPB Switch to release the Electric Park Brakes.
    8. Push the EPB Switch to set the Electric Park Brakes.
    9. Push the EPB Switch to release the Electric Park Brakes.
    10. Release the brake pedal.
    11. Cycle the ignition from off to on.
    12. With the scan tool, read ABS DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAM/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring harness and electrical connectors.
      • Perform the EPB VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EPB VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. CHECK ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE 
    1. Check that there are no extra devices in the car that cause electromagnetic disturbances (cell phones, etc.).

      Are there any electromagnetic disturbances?

      Yes 

      • Remove the devices that cause the electromagnetic disturbances.

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Perform any Service Bulletins that may apply.
    2. Turn the ignition on.
    3. With the scan tool, read ABS DTCs and record on the vehicle repair order.
    4. With the scan tool, erase ABS DTCs.
    5. Cycle the ignition from off to on.
    6. Press and hold the brake pedal.
    7. Push the EPB Switch to release the Electric Park Brakes.
    8. Push the EPB Switch to set the Electric Park Brakes.
    9. Push the EPB Switch to release the Electric Park Brakes.
    10. Release the brake pedal.
    11. Cycle the ignition from off to on.
    12. With the scan tool, read ABS DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Go To appropriate DTC information

      No 

      • The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAM/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring harness and electrical connectors.
      • Perform the EPB VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EPB VERIFICATION TEST .
