Removal And Installation

NOTE:

The sunroof motor and sunroof shade INITIALIZATION procedure must be performed: if a NEW  motor is being installed for the sunroof or sunroof shade, or after removal and installation of one of the motors.

NOTE:

If possible, completely close the sliding glass panel, in order to prevent misaligned sliding guides.

REMOVAL 

  1. Close the sunroof glass fully.
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  3. Lower the headliner. Refer to HEADLINER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1a) from the sunroof motor (1b).
  5. Remove the sunroof motor screws (2a).
  6. Remove the sunroof motor by lowering the motor without rotating the motor and releasing the motor pinion (3a) from the drive cables.
    NOTE:

    Do not move the drive cables while removing the motor. Moving the cables will affect the glass alignment. 

INSTALLATION 

  1. Position the sunroof motor and engage the pinion with the drive cables. Do not move the drive cables as this will affect the alignment of the glass. 
  2. Install the sunroof motor screws and securely tighten.
  3. Connect the wiring harness connector to the sunroof motor.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
  5. Check the glass alignment and adjust if necessary. Refer to GLASS, SUNROOF, FRONT, ADJUSTMENTS .
  6. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  7. Install the headliner. Refer to HEADLINER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
  9. Perform the sunroof initialization procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
