Removal And Installation

NOTE:

The sunroof motor and sunroof shade INITIALIZATION procedure must be performed: if a NEW  motor is being installed for the sunroof or sunroof shade, or after removal and installation of one of the motors.

REMOVAL 

  1. If possible, close the sunshade fully to prevent misaligned sliding guides.
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  3. Lower the headliner. Refer to HEADLINER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  4. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1a) from the sunshade motor (1b).
  5. Remove the sunshade motor screws (2a).
  6. Remove the sunshade motor by lowering the motor without rotating the motor and releasing the motor pinion (3a) from the drive cables.
    NOTE:

    Do not move the drive cables while removing the motor. Moving the cables will affect the sunshade alignment. 

INSTALLATION 

  1. Install the sunshade motor and engage the motor pinion with the drive cables.
  2. Install the sunshade motor screws and securely tighten.
  3. Connect the wiring harness connector to the sunshade motor.
  4. Check the sunshade alignment and adjust if necessary. Refer to GLASS, SUNROOF, FRONT, ADJUSTMENTS .
  5. Install the headliner. Refer to HEADLINER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.
  7. Perform the sunroof initialization procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
