Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
1. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
  Is the DTC active?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Test complete.
CHECK THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) CONNECTOR
1. Check the correct engagement of the instrument panel connector.
  Is the instrument panel connector correctly engaged?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 3
  No
  - Properly engage the instrument panel connector.
CHECK THE CONTINUITY OF THE CAN LINE
1. Check the continuity of the CAN line.
  Does the CAN line have continuity?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 4
  No
  - Restore the CAN line continuity.
CHECK THE LOW CAN FOR SHORT TO + BATTERY
1. Check the Low Can circuit for a short to + battery.
  Is the Low Can circuit shorted to + battery?
  
  Yes
  - Restore insulation to + battery.
  No
  - Go To 5
CHECK THE HIGH CAN FOR SHORT TO GROUND
1. Check the High Can circuit for a short to ground.
  Is the High Can circuit shorted to ground?
  
  Yes
  - Restore insulation to ground.
  No
  - Test complete.
