When working with a vehicle equipped with the electronic air suspension, be sure to set it to the leveling off mode to prevent unexpected operation. Refer to the Electronic Air Suspension System Service Precautions - Refer to: Electronic Air Suspension System Connector Fitting Precautions or Electronic Air Suspension System Service Precautions for the procedure.

   Key Information 

   Do the following before starting your work.

   Remove: 

   • Right Front Wheel - Refer to: Front Brake Area(3.5L Engine) or Front Brake Area(3.0L Engine)

   Sub-Procedure

   Removal 

   1. Set a wrench on the drive belt auto-tensioner (a), and slowly turn the wrench in the direction of the arrow. (Figure 1)

   2. Insert a pin (b) into the hole. (Figure 1)

   Pin Specifications (Figure 2) 

   Standard Value
   c	6.0 mm (15/64 in)

   Preconditions 

   • 12 Volt Battery Negative Terminal Disconnect - Refer to: 12 Volt Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection(3.5L Engine) or 12 Volt Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection(3.0L Engine)

   Key Information 

   Do the following before starting your work.

   Remove: 

   • A/C Condenser Fan Shroud Assembly - Refer to: Radiator Area(3.5L Engine) or Radiator Area(3.0L Engine)
   • Bolt Collar

   Sub-Procedure

   Removal 

   • Remove the alternator as shown.

   After Installation 

   • 12 Volt Battery Negative Terminal Reconnect - Refer to: 12 Volt Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection(3.5L Engine) or 12 Volt Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection(3.0L Engine)
