Wait at least 3 minutes after disconnecting the 12 volt battery terminal.

Preconditions

12 Volt Battery Negative Terminal Disconnected - Refer to: 12 Volt Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection (3.5L Engine) or 12 Volt Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection (3.0L Engine)

NOTICE:

Be careful not to bump (by impact wrench, hammer, etc.) the area around the SRS unit.

NOTE: Before installing the center console cover, make sure the SRS indicator works normally.

Tightening Procedure

After Installation

12 Volt Battery Negative Terminal Reconnect - Refer to: 12 Volt Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection (3.5L Engine) or 12 Volt Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection (3.0L Engine)
ECU Key Write (When replacing the SRS unit)
SRS Unit Update (When replacing the SRS unit)
Yaw Rate-Acceleration Neutral Position Memorization (When replacing the SRS unit)
Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Initialization - Refer to: Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Output Check After a Vehicle Collision or Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Operation Check After Replacing Front Passenger's Seat Component(s) or Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Initialization (When replacing the SRS unit)
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
