SRS System Description - Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Unit

The front passenger's weight is detected by a sensor and this information is sent to the SRS unit via the front passenger's weight sensor unit. If the weight on the front passenger's seat is about 30 kg (66 lbs) or less, the weight sensor unit sends a signal to the SRS unit which controls the front passenger's airbag to prevent deploying it; the front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator turns on and informs the occupant that the front passenger's airbag will not deploy in the event of a collision.
