Side Airbag: Removal

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

NOTE:

If replacing the side airbag after deployment, refer to Component Replacement/Inspection After Deployment for a complete list of other parts that must also be replaced.
When troubleshooting, do not remove the front seat. Disconnect only the side airbag inflator connector from under the front seat.

Battery Terminal - Disconnect

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure , then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
Front Seat - Remove

1. Remove the front seat .
Elastic Strap - Release

1. From under the seat cushion, release the elastic strap from the seat cushion frame springs .

Side Airbag Harness - Remove

1. Remove the clips (A) and the harness holders (B).

Seat-Back Heater Harness (with seat-back heater) - Remove

1. Disconnect the seat-back heater connector, and remove the harness clips and harness holders .
Front Seat-Back Cover/Pad - Remove

1. Remove the front seat-back cover/pad .

Side Airbag - Remove

1. Remove the clip (A).

2. Remove the mounting nuts (B), then remove the side airbag (C).
