ODS Unit (KA, Kc Models): Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

1. ODS Unit - Install

   NOTE: Be sure to install the harness so that they are not pinched or interfering with other parts. Make sure that the seat-back cover/pad is installed properly. Improper installation may prevent proper deployment. 1. Install the ODS unit (A) with the new mounting nuts (B). 2. Connect the ODS unit connector (C) and the OPDS sensor connectors (D). 3. Install the clips (E).

   4. Install the cover (A).

2. Front Passenger's Seat-Back Cover/Pad - Install

   1. Install the front passenger's seat-back cover/pad .

3. Front Passenger's Seat-Back Cover - Zip

   1. Zip the seat-back cover, and install the bottom hooks .

4. Elastic Strap - Install

   1. Install the elastic strap to the seat cushion frame springs .

5. Front Passenger's Seat - Install

   1. Install the front passenger's seat .

6. Battery Terminal - Connect

   1. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure .

7. Front Passenger's Seat - Check

   1. Set the seat-back in the normal position, and make sure there is nothing on the front passenger's seat.

8. DTC - Clear

   1. Clear any DTCs with the HDS.

9. ODS unit - Initialize

   NOTE: After replacing the ODS unit with a new one, initialize the ODS unit. ODS unit initialization initializes both the OPDS sensor and the front passenger's weight sensor. 1. Do the ODS unit initialization .

10. SRS Operation - Confirm

    1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
