Front Passenger's Weight Sensor: Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

1. Front Passenger's Seat Rail/Front Passenger's Weight Sensors - Install

   1. Install the front passenger's seat rail/front passenger's weight sensors as an assembly (A) to the seat frame, and loosely tighten the new TORX nuts (B). NOTE: The spacers and collars can be identified by their color. Make sure to install the spacers and collars as shown. Make sure the tabs (C) on the spacers are toward the upper side.

   2. Tightening the TORX nuts (A) using a TORX E18 socket. Tighten them in a crisscross pattern in two or more steps.

   3. Install the seat cushion frame (A), and install the seat cushion springs (B) to the hooks (C).

2. Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Connector - Connect

   1. Connect the front passenger's weight sensor connectors (A) on the front passenger's seat wire harness. 2. Install the clips (B). 3. With seat cushion heater: Install the clips (C).

3. Front Passenger's Seat Belt Buckle - Install

   1. Install the front passenger's seat belt buckle .

4. Front Seat Recline Inner Cover/Center Inner Cover - Install

   1. Install the recline inner cover and the center inner cover to the seat frame .

5. Front Seat Cushion Cover/Pad - Install

   1. Install the front seat cushion cover/pad .

6. Front Seat-Back Cover/Pad - Install

   1. Install the front seat-back cover/pad .

7. Front Passenger's Seat - Install

   1. Install the front passenger's seat .

8. Battery Terminal - Connect

   1. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure .

9. Seat Operation - Confirm

   1. Move the front seat and the seat-back through their full ranges of movement, making sure the harness are not pinched or interfering with other parts.

10. DTC - Clear

    1. Clear any DTCs with the HDS.

11. Front Passenger's Weight Sensor - Initialize

    1. Do the front passenger's weight sensor initialization .

12. ODS Unit - Operation Check

    1. Do the ODS unit operation check .

13. SRS Operation - Confirm

    1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
