Removal and Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

1. Battery Terminal - Disconnect
   NOTE: Wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
2. Front Cover - Remove (with power seat)
3. Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Unit - Remove

   1. From under the front passenger's seat, disconnect the connectors (A). 2. Remove the front passenger's weight sensor unit (B) from the bracket (C). NOTE: While separating the front passenger's weight sensor unit from the bracket, use a flat-tipped screwdriver (D) to push and release it from the bracket.

4. All Removed Parts - Install

   1. Install the all removed parts in the reverse order of removal. NOTE: Make sure the front passenger's weight sensor unit is properly installed. You will hear a click when the front passenger's weight sensor unit is securely mounted on the bracket. Make sure the front passenger's weight sensor unit has the latest software. If it does not have the latest, update the software in the front passenger's weight sensor unit .

5. Battery Terminal - Connect
6. Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Unit - Initialize
   NOTE: After replacing the front passenger's weight sensor unit with a new one, initialize the front passenger's weight sensor unit.
7. SRS Operation - Confirm

   1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
