Driver's Airbag: Removal

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

NOTE: If replacing the driver's airbag after deployment, refer to Component Replacement/Inspection After Deployment for a complete list of other parts that must also be replaced.

Battery Terminal - Disconnect

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure , then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

Driver's Airbag Inflator Connector - Disconnect

1. Remove the access panel (A).

2. Disconnect the driver's airbag inflator connector (B) on the cable reel harness.

3. Disconnect the horn switch connector (C).

Driver's Airbag - Remove

1. Remove the TORX bolts (A) using a TORX T30 bit, then remove the driver's airbag (B).

NOTE: Make sure the terminal tab (C) of the horn switch connector is attached on the driver's airbag side.
