DTC P055C, P055D (1.5 L Engine)
DTC P055C: Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Voltage DTC P055D: Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Sensor Circuit High Voltage
General Description
The rocker arm oil pressure sensor detects engine oil pressure in the VTEC system. When the voltage from the rocker arm oil pressure sensor is a set value for a specified time, the powertrain control module (PCM) detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

DTC: P055C
The rocker arm oil pressure sensor output voltage [ (Rocker Arm) Oil Pressure Sensor (B) Voltage] is 0.18 V or less for at least 2 seconds.
DTC: P055D
The rocker arm oil pressure sensor output voltage [ (Rocker Arm) Oil Pressure Sensor (B) Voltage] is 4.79 V or more for at least 2 seconds.
Possible Cause
NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
DTC: P055C
- Rocker arm oil pressure sensor VCC line open
- Rocker arm oil pressure sensor P-OIL line short to ground
DTC: P055D
- Rocker arm oil pressure sensor P-OIL line open
- Rocker arm oil pressure sensor SG line open
Common
- Rocker arm oil pressure sensor failure
- PCM internal circuit failure
Diagnosis Details* 1
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the PCM memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the 12 volt battery.
Diagnosis Details* 2
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the PCM memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the MIL comes on and a Confirmed DTC the freeze data stored.
