Rear Damper: Removal

NOTE:  Refer to the Exploded View as needed during the following procedures.

1. Vehicle - Lift

   1. Raise and support the vehicle .

2. Rear Wheel - Remove

   1. Remove the rear wheel .

3. Trunk Side Trim Panel - Remove

   1. Remove the trunk side trim panel .

4. Damper - Remove

   1. Position a floor jack at the connecting point of the trailing arm (A) and the knuckle (B). 2. Raise the floor jack until the suspension begins to compress. 3. Remove the damper mounting bolt (C).

   4. Remove the self-locking nut (A) while holding the damper shaft (B) with a hex wrench (C). 5. Remove the damper mounting washer (D). 6. Remove the damper mounting rubber (E).

   7. Remove the damper unit (A). 8. Remove the damper mounting rubber (B).
