How to Read DTCs
NOTE:
Make sure the battery is fully charged before you begin.
1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode, then wait for 10 seconds.
2. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC) (A).
3. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
4. Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle and the SRS unit. If it does not communicate, go to the DLC circuit troubleshooting .
5. Use the HDS to check for DTCs of necessary systems.
NOTE:
SRS menu has a sub-menu ("SRS", "SWS", and "Failure Control Unit Check"). If you know the unit to check the DTC, go to the menu of each unit. If you do not know which is a unit that stores the DTC, it is possible to determine the unit by selecting the "Failure Control Unit Check", which stores the DTC.
6. Read and record the DTC.
NOTE:
Do not clear the DTC until instructed by the troubleshooting procedure.
7. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode, then wait for 10 seconds.
8. Do the troubleshooting procedure for the DTC.
