SRS DTC 92-2x
DTC 92-2x ("x" can be 0 thru 9 or A thru F) : Open or Short to Ground in the Front Passenger's Airbag Cutoff Indicator
- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, find out if the vehicle was in a collision. If so, verify that all the required components were replaced with new components, of the correct part number, and that they were properly installed .
- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures , General Troubleshooting Information , and Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection .
- Before replacing the SRS unit, check the SRS unit software version with the HDS. If the software version is not the latest, update the SRS unit software , and retest.
- If there are other SRS DTCs stored with 92-2x; troubleshoot them first.

- Problem verification
-1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS .
-2. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.
-3. Check for DTCs with the HDS .
DTC Description DTC Is DTC 92-2x indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures . If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.
- Open wire check (OFF PTT line)
-1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
-2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.
-3. Disconnect the following connectors.
SRS unit connector A (39P) Front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness) -4. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition OFF mode SRS unit connector A (39P): disconnected Front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected Test circuit OFF PTT Test point 1 SRS unit connector A (39P) No. 17 Test point 2 Front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector No. 4 (BLU) (on the dashboard wire harness) Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
The OFF PTT wire is not open. Go to step 3.
NO
Open in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness, then clear the DTC.
- Shorted wire check (OFF PTT line)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition OFF mode SRS unit connector A (39P): disconnected Front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected Test circuit OFF PTT Test point 1 SRS unit connector A (39P) No. 17 Test point 2 Body ground Is there an open circuit, or at least 1 MΩ?
YES
The OFF PTT wire is OK. Replace the front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator , then clear the DTC, and retest. If the DTC is still present, replace the SRS unit .
NO
Short to ground in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness.
