SRS DTC 61-1x

DTC 61-1x ("x" can be 0 thru 9 or A thru F)  : Open in the Driver's Seat Belt Buckle Switch

DTC (SRS)

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS .

    -2. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds. Buckle and unbuckle the driver's seat belt several times.

    -3. Check for DTCs with the HDS .

    Is DTC 61-1x indicated?

    YES 

    The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures . If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.

  2. SRS unit check

    -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

    -2. Connect terminals A and B with a jumper wire.

    -3. Clear the DTCs with the HDS .

    -4. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.

    -5. Check for DTCs with the HDS .

    Is DTC 61-2x indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Faulty SRS unit or poor connection at SRS unit connector B (39P) and the SRS unit. Check the connection; if the connection is OK, replace the SRS unit . If the DTC does not clear, replace the floor wire harness.

  3. Open wire check (FLBC line)

    -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

    -2. Remove the jumper wire from SRS unit connector B (39P).

    -3. Disconnect the driver's seat belt buckle switch 2P connector (A) on the floor wire harness.

    -4. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

    -5. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition ON mode
    Driver's seat belt buckle switch 2P connector (on the floor wire harness): disconnected
    Test circuit FLBC
    Test point 1 Driver's seat belt buckle switch 2P connector No. 1 (on the floor wire harness)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there 10 V or more?

    YES 

    The FLBC wire is OK. Go to step 4.

    NO 

    Open in the floor wire harness; replace the floor wire harness, then clear the DTC.

  4. Open wire check (GND line)

    -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

    -2. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition OFF mode
    Driver's seat belt buckle switch 2P connector (on the floor wire harness): disconnected
    Test circuit GND
    Test point 1 Driver's seat belt buckle switch 2P connector No. 2 (BLK) (on the floor wire harness)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The GND wire is OK. Faulty driver's seat belt buckle switch; replace the driver's seat belt buckle assembly , then clear the DTC.

    NO 

    Open in the floor wire harness; check for a poor ground at G602. If the ground is OK, replace the floor wire harness, then clear the DTC.
