DTC (PGM-FI)
- DTC check (PGM-FI system)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC P0500 Vehicle Speed Sensor A No Signal P0720 Output Shaft (Countershaft) Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction P2158 Vehicle Speed Sensor B No Signal Is DTC P0500, P0720, and/or P2158 indicated?
YES
Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
NO
Go to step 2.
- DTC check (VSA system)
-1. Check the following VSA system DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC C0030-38 Magnetic Encoder (Left Front) Failure (Pulse Missing) C0031-14 Left Front Wheel Speed sensor Circuit Failure (Circuit Short To Ground or Open) DTC Description DTC C0031-62 Left Front Wheel Speed sensor Signal Compare Failure C0033-38 Magnetic Encoder (Right Front) Failure (Pulse Missing) C0034-14 Right Front Wheel Speed sensor Circuit Failure (Circuit Short To Ground or Open) C0034-62 Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Signal Compare Failure Is DTC C0030-38, C0031-14, C0031-62, C0033-38, C0034-14, and/or C0034-62 indicated?
YES
Go to the indicated VSA system DTC's troubleshooting .
NO
Go to step 3.
- Problem verification
-1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-2. Start the engine.
Test-drive the vehicle under these conditions:
- Vehicle speed above 19 mph (30 km/h) for more than 30 seconds
Signal Current conditions Values Unit Vehicle Speed -4. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P215C in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.
DTC Description OBD STATUS P215C Output Shaft (Countershaft) Speed/Vehicle Speed Correlation Does the HDS indicate FAILED?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Replace the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor .
NO
If the HDS indicates PASSED, intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor and the PCM. If the on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the on-board snapshot . If the HDS indicates NOT COMPLETED, keep driving until a result comes on.
