DTC C1420-29 : Main Torque Sensor and Sub Torque Sensor Incorrect Correlation DTC C1422-29 : Sub Torque Sensor Internal Malfunction

DTC (EPS)
- DTC check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then start the engine.
-4. Turn the steering wheel to left and right several times, and keep holding each direction for 10 seconds.
-5. Return back the steering wheel to the center position.
-6. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC Freeze Frame C1420-29 Main Torque Sensor and Sub Torque Sensor Incorrect Correlation C1421-14 Main Torque Sensor Malfunction C1422-14 Sub Torque Sensor Malfunction C1422-29 Sub Torque Sensor Internal Malfunction Is DTC C1420-29, C1421-14, C1422-14, or C1422-29 indicated?
YES
Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the EPS control unit connectors. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the steering gearbox .
YES
If DTC C1421-14 or C1422-14 are also indicated, go to DTC C1421-14 or C1422-14 troubleshooting.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
