DTC C1C01-96  : Brake Pedal Stroke Sensor Component Internal Failure

NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .

DTC Description DTC Freeze Frame
C1C01-96 Brake Pedal Stroke Sensor Component Internal Failure    

DTC (Electric brake booster)

  1. Problem verification 1

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then wait 5 seconds or more.

    NOTE:  Do not open and close the driver's door.

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    C1C01-96 Brake Pedal Stroke Sensor Component Internal Failure    

    Is DTC C1C01-96 indicated?

    YES 

    The failure is duplicated. Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the electric brake booster 26P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the electric brake booster .

    NO 

    Go to step 2.

  2. Problem verification 2

    -1. Start the engine.

    -2. Test-drive the vehicle without pressing the brake pedal for 1 minute or more.

    NOTE:  Drive the vehicle on the road, not on a lift.

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then wait for 3 minutes or more.

    NOTE:  Do not open and close the driver's door.

    Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 1 minute or more.

    NOTE: 

    • Do not open and close the driver's door.
    • Do not press the brake pedal during 1 minute elapse.

    -5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC C1C01-96 indicated?

    YES 

    The failure is duplicated. Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the electric brake booster 26P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the electric brake booster .

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting . If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
