DTC P154B (1.5 L Engine) (2021)

DTC P154B  : Battery Sensor Malfunction

NOTE:  Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .

DTC (PGM-FI)

1. DTC check

   -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   -2. Check the Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

   DTC Description	Confirmed DTC	Pending DTC
   P0112 IAT Sensor 1 Circuit Low Voltage
   P0113 IAT Sensor 1 Circuit High Voltage

   Is DTC P0112 and/or P0113 indicated?

   YES 

   Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.

   NO 

   Go to step 2.

2. 12 volt battery temperature check

   -1. Open the hood, and measure the temperature around the 12 volt battery sensor with a thermometer.

   -2. Start the engine, and let it idle for 10 seconds, then check the parameter (s) below with the HDS.

   Estimated Battery Temperature

   Does the value of Estimated Battery Temperature differ 41 deg. F (23 deg. C) or more from the value of the thermometer?

   YES 

   Replace the 12 volt battery sensor .

   NO 

   Go to step 3.

3. 12 volt battery sensor signal check

   -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

   -2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   -3. Check the parameter (s) below with the HDS.

   Do the current condition (s) match the threshold?

   YES 

   Replace the 12 volt battery sensor .

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the 12 volt battery sensor and the PCM. If the on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the on-board snapshot .
