DTC (VSA)
- DTC check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-4. Test-drive the vehicle at 19 mph (30 km/h) or more for 60 seconds or more.
NOTE: Drive the vehicle on the road, not on a lift.
-5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC U0029-00 CAN Communication Failure (Bus OFF Ch 1) U0100-00 CAN Communication Failure with ECM/ISU C1C20-62 Neutral Sensor Failure C1C22-62 Neutral Sensor Failure Is DTC C1C20-62 or C1C22-62 indicated?
YES
If DTC C1C20-62 or C1C22-62 is only indicated, go to step 2.
YES
If DTC U0029-00 or U0100-00 are also indicated, go to U0029-00 or U0100-00 .
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting .
- PGM-FI system parameter check
-1. Check the parameter (s) below with the HDS.
Signal Current conditions Values Unit Status of Neutral Position Does the parameter change when the shift lever is in neutral, then moved out of neutral?
YES
Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the VSA modulator-control unit .
