Rear Brake Caliper: Removal

NOTICE: 

Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle; it may damage the paint. If brake fluid does contact the paint, wash it off immediately with water.

1. Vehicle - Lift

   1. Raise and support the vehicle .

2. Rear Wheel - Remove

   1. Remove the rear wheel .

3. Parking Brake - Release

   1. Release the parking brake lever fully.

4. Parking Brake Cable - Disconnect

   1. Remove the parking brake cable clip (A). 2. Disconnect the parking brake cable (B) from the lever (C). NOTE:  Be careful not to bend or distort the cable and boot (D).

5. Brake Caliper Body - Remove

   NOTE:  After removal, plug the ends of the hoses and the joints to prevent spilling brake fluid. 1. Remove the banjo bolt (A), and disconnect the brake hose (B) from the caliper body (C). 2. Remove the caliper body.

   3. Remove the pad shims (A) and the brake pads (B).

   4. Remove the caliper pins (A). NOTE:  The upper and lower caliper pins are different. During installation, make sure the caliper pins are in the proper positions. 5. Remove the pin boots (B).
