HandsFreeLink System - Phone book, TXT/E-mail does not work (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022)

Phone book, TXT/E-mail does not work 

NOTE: 

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Pair the client's cell phone with Bluetooth to the vehicle.

    Is the client's phone book and call history imported to the vehicle?

    YES 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

    NO 

    The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.

  2. Determine possible failure area (cell phone, others)

    -1. Pair an approved known-good cell phone to the vehicle.

    Is the phone book and call history imported to the vehicle?

    YES 

    The client's cell phone with Bluetooth is defective or not compatible. Check online, or call the HFL Customer Service to make sure the client's cell phone is compatible with the HFL system and that there are no known issues.

    NO 

    Go to step 3.

  3. HFL diagnosis check:

    Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the HFL in the Unit Check menu:

    Is USB NG indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 4.

    NO 

    Replace the HandsFreeLink control unit .

  4. Open wire check (USB lines)

    -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    Audio-navigation unit connector J (5P) (with navigation)
    Audio unit connector J (5P) (without navigation)
    HandsFreeLink control unit connector B (5P)

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition OFF mode
      Audio-navigation unit connector J (5P) (with navigation): disconnected
      Audio unit connector J (5P) (without navigation): disconnected
      HandsFreeLink control unit connector B (5P): disconnected
    Test circuit  Test point 1:Audio-navigation unit connector J (5P) or Audio unit connector J (5P)  Test point 2:HandsFreeLink control unit connector B (5P) 
    USB GND No. 1 No. 4
    USB VBUS No. 2 No. 1
    USB DATA+ No. 3 No. 3
    USB DATA- No. 4 No. 2

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The USB wires are OK. Go to step 5.

    NO 

    There is an open in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit or the audio unit and the HandsFreeLink control unit. Replace affected shielded harness.

  5. HandsFreeLink control unit check (substitution)

    -1. Substitute a known-good HandsFreeLink control unit .

    -2. Reconnect all the connectors, and recheck.

    Does the symptom go away?

    YES 

    Replace the original HandsFreeLink control unit.

    NO: With navigation

    Replace the audio-navigation unit .

    NO: Without navigation

    Replace the audio unit .
