Audio-Navigation System DTC: 2707(KA, KC models) (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022)

DTC 2707  : Mic Diag

NOTE: 

• Check the vehicle battery condition first .
• This navigation DTC sets when a problem is detected in the microphone circuit (the Mic icon is red in the System Links).
• Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
• Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information .
• Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

1. Problem verification

   -1. Clear the hard error codes .

   -2. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -3. Check for hard error codes .

   Is DTC 2707 indicated?

   YES 

   The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

2. Telematics system DTC check

   -1. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and select the Mic/STRG SW in the Functional Setup menu to check for telematics system DTCs .

   Are there any DTCs indicated?

   YES 

   Go to indicated telematics system DTC troubleshooting.

   NO 

   Go to step 3.

3. Audio-navigation unit check

   -1. Do the Mic Level test in the Mic/STRG SW diagnosis .

   -2. Check the Mic level saying "testing" in front of the microphone.

   Is the microphone level OK?

   YES 

   Replace the audio-navigation unit .

   NO 

   Go to step 4.

4. Determine possible failure area (MIC PWR line, others)

   -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -2. Disconnect the following connector.

   HFL-ANC/active sound control microphone 8P connector

   -3. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

   -4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	ON mode
   	HFL-ANC/active sound control microphone 8P connector: disconnected
   Test circuit	MIC PWR

   Test point 1	HFL-ANC/active sound control microphone 8P connector No. 4 (YEL)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there about 8.0 V?

   YES 

   The MIC PWR wire is OK. Go to step 7.

   NO 

   Go to step 5.

5. Open wire check (MIC PWR line)

   -1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	ON mode
   	HFL-ANC/active sound control microphone 8P connector: disconnected
   Test circuit	MIC PWR
   Test point 1	Telematics control unit connector A (36P) No. 9 (YEL)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there about 8.0 V?

   YES 

   Repair an open in the wire between the HFL-ANC/active sound control microphone and the telematics control unit.

   NO 

   The MIC PWR wire is not open. Go to step 6.

6. Shorted wire check (MIC PWR line)

   -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -2. Disconnect the following connector.

   Telematics control unit connector A (36P)

   -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	OFF mode
   	HFL-ANC/active sound control microphone 8P connector: disconnected
   	Telematics control unit connector A (36P): disconnected
   Test circuit	MIC PWR
   Test point 1	Telematics control unit connector A (36P) No. 9 (YEL)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   Repair a short to body ground in the wire between the HFL-ANC/active sound control microphone and the telematics control unit.

   NO 

   Replace the telematics control unit .

7. Open wire check (HFT-NAVI MIC+ line, HFT-NAVI MIC- line)

   -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

   Telematics control unit connector A (36P)

   Audio-navigation unit connector F (18P)

   -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	OFF mode
   	Telematics control unit connector A (36P): disconnected
   	Audio-navigation unit connector F (18P): disconnected
   Test circuit	HFT-NAVI MIC+
   Test point 1	Telematics control unit connector A (36P) No. 22 (GRN)
   Test point 2	Audio-navigation unit connector F (18P) No. 13 (GRN)

   Test circuit	HFT-NAVI MIC-
   Test point 1	Telematics control unit connector A (36P) No. 21 (RED)
   Test point 2	Audio-navigation unit connector F (18P) No. 14 (RED)

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   The HFT-NAVI MIC+ and the HFT-NAVI MIC-  wires are OK. Go to step 8.

   NO 

   There is an open in the wire(s) between the telematics control unit and the audio-navigation unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.

8. Determine possible failure area (HFL-ANC/active sound control microphone, others)

   -1. Substitute a known-good HFL-ANC/active sound control microphone .

   -2. Reconnect all the connectors.

   -3. Clear the hard error codes .

   -4. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -5. Check for hard error codes .

   Is DTC 2707 indicated?

   YES 

   Go to step 9.

   NO 

   Replace the original HFL-ANC/active sound control microphone.

9. Audio-navigation unit check (substitution)

   -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -2. Substitute a known-good audio-navigation unit .

   -3. Clear the hard error codes .

   -4. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -5. Check for hard error codes .

   Is DTC 2707 indicated?

   YES 

   Replace the telematics control unit .

   NO 

   Replace the original audio-navigation unit.
