Audio-Navigation System DTC: 2705(KA models) (2013 2014 2015)

DTC 2705  : HFL Diag

NOTE: 

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Clear the hard error codes .

    -2. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode and then select the ON mode.

    -3. Check for hard error codes .

    Is DTC 2705 indicated?

    YES 

    The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

  2. HFT diagnosis check 1

    -1. Select the HFT in the Unit Check menu, and check GA-NET status .

    Is GA-NET OK indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Go to HFL does not respond (with navigation) troubleshooting .

  3. HFT diagnosis check 2

    -1. Select the HFT in the Unit Check menu, and check DESIP status .

    Is DESIP OK indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 4.

    NO 

    Go to step 5.

  4. HandsFreeLink system DTC check

    -1. Select the HFT in the Unit Check menu, and check for HFL DTCs .

    Are there any HFL DTCs indicated?

    YES 

    Go to indicated HFL DTC troubleshooting.

    NO 

    Replace the audio-navigation unit .

  5. Shorted wire check (HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM lines) 1

    -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    HandsFreeLink control unit 32P connector
    AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P)

    -3. Check for continuity between these test points and body ground individually.

    Test condition OFF mode
      HandsFreeLink control unit 32P connector: disconnected
      AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P): disconnected

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    There is a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver). Replace the affected shielded harness.

    NO 

    The HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM wires are not shorted to ground. Go to step 6.

  6. Shorted wire check (HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM lines) 2

    -1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition OFF mode
      HandsFreeLink control unit 32P connector: disconnected
      AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P): disconnected

    HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM3 to HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM4, HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM2, HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM1 No. 10 (RED) No. 11 (GRN), No. 26 (WHT), No. 27 (BLK)
    HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM4 to HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM2, HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM1 No. 11 (GRN) No. 26 (WHT), No. 27 (BLK)
    HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM2 to HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM1 No. 26 (WHT) No. 27 (BLK)

    Is there continuity between any of the terminals?

    YES 

    There is a short in the wires between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver). Replace the affected shielded harness.

    NO 

    The HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM wires are not shorted in the wires. Go to step 7.

  7. Open wire check (HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM lines)

    -1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition OFF mode
      HandsFreeLink control unit 32P connector: disconnected
      AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P): disconnected
    Test circuit  Test point 1:HandsFreeLink control unit 32P connector  Test point 2:AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) 
    HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM3 No. 10 (RED) No. 27 (RED)
    HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM4 No. 11 (GRN) No. 26 (GRN)
    HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM2 No. 26 (WHT) No. 24 (WHT)
    HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM1 No. 27 (BLK) No. 25 (BLK)

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    The HFT-HIP/NAVI COMM wires are OK. Go to step 8.

    NO 

    There is an open in the wire(s) between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver). Replace the affected shielded harness.

  8. AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) check

    -1. Substitute a known-good HandsFreeLink control unit .

    -2. Reconnect all the connectors.

    -3. Clear the hard error codes .

    -4. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode and then select the ON mode.

    -5. Check for hard error codes .

    Is DTC 2705 indicated?

    YES 

    Replace the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) .

    NO 

    Replace the original HandsFreeLink control unit.
