Audio-Navigation System DTC: 2601(KA, KC models) (2016 2017 2018)

DTC 2601  : Display Diag: Connect

NOTE: 

• Check the vehicle battery condition first .
• This navigation DTC sets when a problem (open or short) is detected in the GA-Net BUS (the Display icon is red in the System Links).
• Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
• Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information .
• Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

1. Problem verification

   -1. Clear the hard error codes .

   -2. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -3. Check for hard error codes .

   Is DTC 2601 indicated?

   YES 

   The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

2. DTC check

   -1. Check for hard error codes .

   Is DTC 2721 indicated?

   YES 

   Go to step 4.

   NO 

   Go to step 3.

3. Open wire check (GA BUS+ line, GA BUS- line)

   -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

   Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P)

   Center display unit connector A (12P)

   -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	OFF mode
   	Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P): disconnected
   	Center display unit connector A (12P): disconnected
   Test circuit	GA BUS+
   Test point 1	Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P) No. 7 (BLU)
   Test point 2	Center display unit connector A (12P) No. 1 (BLU)

   Test circuit	GA BUS-
   Test point 1	Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P) No. 1 (PNK)
   Test point 2	Center display unit connector A (12P) No. 2 (PNK)

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   Replace the center display unit .

   NO 

   There is an open in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the center display unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.

4. Determine possible failure area (GA-Net related unit, others)

   -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

   Tuner unit connector A (20P)

   Telematics control unit connector A (36P)

   -3. Check for hard error codes .

   Is DTC 2601 indicated?

   YES 

   Go to step 6.

   NO 

   Go to step 5.

5. Tuner unit check

   -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -2. Reconnect tuner unit connector A (20P).

   -3. Check for hard error codes .

   Is DTC 2601 indicated?

   YES 

   Replace the tuner unit .

   NO 

   Replace the telematics control unit .

6. Shorted wire check (GA BUS+ line, GA BUS- line)

   -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

   Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P)

   Center display unit connector A (12P)

   -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	OFF mode
   	Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P): disconnected
   	Center display unit connector A (12P): disconnected
   	Tuner unit connector A (20P): disconnected
   	Telematics control unit connector A (36P): disconnected
   Test circuit	GA BUS+
   Test point 1	Center display unit connector A (12P) No. 1 (BLU)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Test circuit	GA BUS-
   Test point 1	Center display unit connector A (12P) No. 2 (PNK)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   There is a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the center display unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.

   NO 

   The GA BUS+ and the GA BUS-  wires are not shorted to ground. Go to step 7.

7. Shorted wire check (GA BUS+ line to another lines)

   -1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	OFF mode
   	Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P): disconnected
   	Center display unit connector A (12P): disconnected
   	Tuner unit connector A (20P): disconnected
   	Telematics control unit connector A (36P): disconnected
   Test circuit	GA BUS+, GA BUS-
   Test point 1	Center display unit connector A (12P) No. 1 (BLU)
   Test point 2	Center display unit connector A (12P) No. 2 (PNK)

   Test circuit	GA BUS+, SH GA BUS
   Test point 1	Center display unit connector A (12P) No. 1 (BLU)
   Test point 2	Center display unit connector A (12P) No. 7 (GRY)

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   There is a short in the wires between the audio-navigation unit and the center display unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.

   NO 

   The GA BUS+ wire is not shorted. Go to step 8.

8. Open wire check (GA BUS+ line, GA BUS- line)

   -1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	OFF mode
   	Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P): disconnected
   	Center display unit connector A (12P): disconnected
   	Tuner unit connector A (20P): disconnected
   	Telematics control unit connector A (36P): disconnected
   Test circuit	GA BUS+
   Test point 1	Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P) No. 7 (BLU)
   Test point 2	Center display unit connector A (12P) No. 1 (BLU)

   Test circuit	GA BUS-
   Test point 1	Audio-navigation unit connector D (12P) No. 1 (PNK)
   Test point 2	Center display unit connector A (12P) No. 2 (PNK)

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   The GA BUS+ and the GA BUS-  wires are OK. Go to step 9.

   NO 

   There is an open in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the center display unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.

9. Center display unit check (substitution)

   -1. Substitute a known-good center display unit .

   -2. Reconnect all the connectors.

   -3. Clear the hard error codes .

   -4. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -5. Check for hard error codes .

   Is DTC 2601 indicated?

   YES 

   Replace the audio-navigation unit .

   NO 

   Replace the original center display unit.
