Exterior Lights Symptom Troubleshooting - LED headlight does not go off
- Combination light switch OFF position check
-1. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC) .
-2. Turn the combination light switch OFF.
-3. Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.
Signal Threshold Current conditions Values Unit Values Unit Headlight Switch (HEADLIGHT) OFF Is data list values correct?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Go to step 2.
- Combination light switch check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Do the combination light switch test .
Is the switch OK?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
- Shorted wire check (H/L ON SW line)
-1. Disconnect the following connector(s).
Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (24P) Automatic lighting/rain sensor 5P connector* *: With rain sensor
-2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Combination light switch 12P connector: disconnected
Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (24P): disconnectedTest circuit H/L ON SW Test point 1 Combination light switch 12P connector No. 7 (GRN) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short to ground in the wire.
NO
The H/L ON SW wire is OK. Faulty MICU; replace the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box .
- Headlight relay check
-1. Do the headlight relay test .
Is the headlight relay OK?
YES
Go to step 5.
NO
Replace the headlight relay.
- Taillight relay check
-1. Do the taillight relay test .
Is the taillight relay OK?
YES
Repair a short to power in the wire.
NO
Replace the taillight relay.
