Fuel Gauge Sending Unit (2013 2014 2015): Test
- HDS - Connect
1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, but do not start the engine. 2. Connect the HDS to the DLC (A) located under the driver's side of the dashboard.
3. Make sure the HDS communicates with the PCM and other vehicle systems. If it doesn't, go to the DLC circuit troubleshooting
.
- DTC - Check
1. Check for DTCs with the HDS. If any of the following DTCs are indicated, troubleshoot the indicated DTCs. NOTE: If the PGM-FI system's DTC and the body electrical system's DTC are indicated at the same time, troubleshoot the PGM-FI system's DTC first.
- PGM-FI system: P0462, P0463
- Body electrical system: B1175, B1176
- Rear Seat Cushion and Seat Back - Remove
1. Remove the rear seat cushion and the rear seat back. - Fuel Tank Unit - Remove
1. Remove the fuel tank unit . - Fuel Gauge Sending Unit - Test
1. Measure the resistance between fuel tank unit 4P connector terminals No. 2 and No. 4 with the float at E (EMPTY), LOW (LOW FUEL INDICATOR), 1/2 (HALF FULL), and F (FULL) positions. If you do not get the following readings, replace the fuel tank unit . 2. Reconnect the fuel tank unit 4P connector.
3. Move the float to F, then press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
4. Check that the fuel gauge indicates F with the float at F.
- If the fuel gauge does not indicate F, replace the gauge control module .
- If the gauge is OK, the test is complete.
5. Remove the No. A29 fuse and the No. B5 fuse for at least 10 seconds after completing the test, otherwise it may take up to 20 minutes for the fuel gauge to indicate the correct fuel level.
