No sound is heard from all the speakers (display is normal)
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first .
- Set the fader and the balance positions to the center.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and use the speaker check mode .
Did all speakers produce a tone?
YES
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose connections at the audio-navigation unit and speakers. If the tone is weak or distorted, go to Audio system sound is weak or distorted (display is normal) troubleshooting .
NO
The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
- Stereo amplifier connection check
-1. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and use the System Links to check the AMP icon status .
Is the AMP icon green?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Go to step 4.
- Stereo amplifier check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Substitute a known-good stereo amplifier , and recheck.
Does the symptom go away?
YES
Replace the original stereo amplifier.
NO
- Fuse check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Check the following fuse.
Fuse No. B37 Is the fuse OK?
YES
Go to step 5.
NO
Replace the fuse, and recheck. If the fuse blows again, check for a short in the No. B37 fuse circuit.
- Open wire check (+B PREMIUM AMP line)
-1. Disconnect the following connector.
Stereo amplifier connector A (18P) -2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Stereo amplifier connector A (18P): disconnected Test circuit +B PREMIUM AMP Test point 1 Stereo amplifier connector A (18P) No. 3 (WHT) Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
The +B PREMIUM AMP wire is OK. Go to step 6.
NO
Repair an open in the wire.
- Determine possible failure area (SWD+B line, others)
-1. Disconnect the following connector.
Stereo amplifier connector B (28P) -2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-3. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

YES
The SWD+B wire is OK. Go to step 9.
NO
Go to step 7.
- Open wire check (SWD+B line)
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

Repair an open in the wire.
NO
The SWD+B wire is not open. Go to step 8.
- Shorted wire check (SWD+B line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connectors.
NOTE: Eject the disc before disconnecting the audio-navigation unit to prevent damaging the CD/DVD player's load mechanism.
Audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) ANC/active sound control unit 20P connector CarPlay and Android Auto unit connector A (20P) -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Stereo amplifier connector A (18P): disconnected Stereo amplifier connector B (28P): disconnected Audio-navigation unit connector A (24P): disconnected ANC/active sound control unit 20P connector: disconnected CarPlay and Android Auto unit connector A (20P): disconnected Test circuit SWD+B Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector A (24P) No. 21 (WHT) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short in the wire.
NO
- Open wire check (GND line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

YES
The GND wire is OK. Go to step 10.
NO
Repair an open in the wire or poor ground (G504).
- Shorted wire check (RS485+ line, RS485- line)
-1. Disconnect the following connector.
Audio-navigation unit connector C (20P) -2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio-navigation unit connector C (20P): disconnected Stereo amplifier connector A (18P): disconnected Stereo amplifier connector B (28P): disconnected Test circuit RS485+ Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector C (20P) No. 5 (PNK) Test point 2 Body ground Test circuit RS485- Test point 1 Audio-navigation unit connector C (20P) No. 4 (BLU) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
There is a short to body ground in the wire(s). Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO
The RS485+ and the RS485- wires are not shorted to ground. Go to step 11.
- Shorted wire check (RS485+ line to RS485- line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

There is a short in the wires. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO
The RS485+ and the RS485- wires are not shorted. Go to step 12.
- Shorted wire check (RE485 SH line to another lines)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

- Open wire check (RS485+ line, RS485- line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

The RS485+ and the RS485- wires are OK. Go to step 14.
NO
There is an open in the wire(s). Replace the affected shielded harness.
- Stereo amplifier check
-1. Substitute a known-good stereo amplifier .
-2. Reconnect all the connectors, and recheck.
Does the symptom go away?
YES
Replace the original stereo amplifier.
NO
