Precision All Wheel Steer Symptom Troubleshooting - Precision all wheel steer system indicator does not go off, and no DTCs are stored (2014 2015 2016 2017)
- All DTCs check except precision all wheel steer system
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Do the All DTCs check with the HDS.
All DTCs
Are there DTCs indicated?
YES
Do the DTC troubleshooting.
NO
Go to step 2.
- Fuse check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Check the following fuse.
Fuse No. D24 (7.5 A) Location Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box Is the fuse OK?
YES
The fuse is OK. Reinstall the fuse, then go to step 3.
NO
Replace the fuse. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then the OFF (LOCK). If the fuse blows again, repair the short to ground on the No. D24 (7.5 A) fuse circuit.
- Gauge control module operation check
-1. Do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function .
Is the gauge control module OK?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
- Open wire check (IG1 DR2 line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connector.
Precision all wheel steer control unit connector A (16P) -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Precision all wheel steer control unit connector A (16P): disconnected Test circuit IG1 DR2 Test point 1 Precision all wheel steer control unit connector A (16P) No. 15 (WHT) Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
The IG1 DR2 wire is OK. Go to step 5.
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the No. D24 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and the precision all wheel steer control unit.
- Open wire check (GND lines)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Reconnect the following connector.
Precision all wheel steer control unit connector A (16P) -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Test circuit GND Test point 1 Precision all wheel steer control unit connector B (5P) No. 1 (BLK) Test point 2 Body ground Test circuit GND Test point 1 Precision all wheel steer control unit connector B (5P) No. 3 (BLK) Test point 2 Body ground Is there 0.1 V or more?
YES
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the electric parking brake control unit and body ground (G705) or loosen the ground bolt.
NO
The GND wires are OK. Go to step 6.
- F-CAN circuit communication check
-1. Select the FUNCTION TEST in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.
F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check
Which result is indicated?
Gauge control module is Not Available
Go to step 7.
Precision all wheel steer control unit is Not Available
Go to step 8.
Precision all wheel steer control unit and gauge control module are Detected
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting.
- Open wire check (F-CAN A_L, F-CAN A_H lines)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connectors.
CAN gateway 24P connector Gauge control module connector A (32P) -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode CAN gateway 24P connector: disconnected Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected Test circuit F-CAN A_L Test point 1 CAN gateway 24P connector No. 15 (PNK) Test point 2 Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 28 (PNK) Test circuit F-CAN A_H Test point 1 CAN gateway 24P connector No. 14 (BLU) Test point 2 Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 27 (BLU) Is there continuity?
YES
Check for loose terminals in the CAN gateway 24P connector and gauge control module connector A (32P). If they are OK, substitute a known-good gauge control module , then retest. If the indicator come on then go off after substitution, replace the original gauge control module .
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the gauge control module and the CAN gateway.
- Open wire check (F-CAN C_L, F-CAN C_H lines)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connectors.
CAN gateway 24P connector Precision all wheel steer control unit connector A (16P) -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode CAN gateway 24P connector: disconnected Precision all wheel steer control unit connector A (16P): disconnected Test circuit F-CAN C_L Test point 1 CAN gateway 24P connector No. 8 (PNK) Test point 2 Precision all wheel steer control unit connector A (16P) No. 14 (PNK) Test circuit F-CAN C_H Test point 1 CAN gateway 24P connector No. 9 (PUR) Test point 2 Precision all wheel steer control unit connector A (16P) No. 6 (PUR) Is there continuity?
YES
Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the precision all wheel steer control unit and the CAN gateway. If necessary, substitute a known-good precision all wheel steer control unit , and recheck.
NO
Repair an open in the wire between the CAN gateway and the precision all wheel steer control unit.
