Sport Mode Switch Circuit Troubleshooting
- Sport mode switch check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Remove the center console panel .
-3. Disconnect the following connector.
Sport mode switch 4P connector -4. Test the sport mode switch .
Is the sport mode switch test OK?
YES
The sport mode switch is OK. Go to step 2.
NO
- Open wire check (GND line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Sport mode switch 4P connector: disconnected Test circuit GND Test point 1 Sport mode switch 4P connector No. 3 (BLK) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
The GND wire is OK. Go to step 3.
NO
Repair an open in the GND wire between the sport mode switch and ground (G503) or repair poor ground (G503).
- Shorted wire check (OUTSIDE TEMP GND line)
-1. Disconnect the following connector.
Gauge control module connector A (32P)
-2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Sport mode switch 4P connector: disconnected Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected Test circuit OUTSIDE TEMP GND Test point 1 Sport mode switch 4P connector No. 2 (BLU) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short to ground in the OUTSIDE TEMP GND wire between the sport mode switch and gauge control module connector A (32P).
NO
The OUTSIDE TEMP GND wire is not shorted. Go to step 4.
- Open wire check (OUTSIDE TEMP GND line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Sport mode switch 4P connector: disconnected Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected Test circuit OUTSIDE TEMP GND Test point 1 Sport mode switch 4P connector No. 2 (BLU) Test point 2 Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 23 (BLU) Is there continuity?
YES
The OUTSIDE TEMP GND wire is OK. Do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function .
NO
Repair an open in the OUTSIDE TEMP GND wire between the sport mode switch and gauge control module connector A (32P).
