DTC B1192

DTC B1192  : Gauge Control Module Lost Communication With Battery Sensor ECU (LIN BUS Connected)

B1192 Gauge Control Module Lost Communication With Battery Sensor ECU (LIN BUS Connected)  

DTC (Gauge Control Module)

NOTE:  If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A .

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode and then the ON mode.

    -3. Wait for at least 4 seconds.

    -4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    B1192 Gauge Control Module Lost Communication With Battery Sensor ECU (LIN BUS Connected)  
    B1193 Gauge Control Module Lost Communication With Steering Switch (LIN BUS Connected)  

    Is DTC B1192 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 2.

    YES 

    Go to step 5.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.

  2. Fuse check

    -1. Check the following fuse.

    Fuse No. B11 (10 A)
    Location Main under-hood fuse box

    Is the fuse OK?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Replace the fuse. If the fuse blows again, repair a short to ground in the No. B11 (10 A) fuse circuit.

  3. Open wire check (+B HORN line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Battery sensor 3P connector

    -3. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    Battery sensor 3P connector: disconnected
    Test circuit +B HORN
    Test point 1 Battery sensor 3P connector No. 2 (WHT)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there battery voltage?

    YES 

    The +B HORN wire is OK. Go to step 4.

    NO 

    Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.

  4. Open wire check (LIN (BATT SENSOR) line)

    -1. Disconnect the following connector.

    Gauge control module connector A (32P)

    -2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
    Battery sensor 3P connector: disconnected
    Test circuit LIN (BATT SENSOR)
    Test point 1 Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 24 (BLU)
    Test point 2 Battery sensor 3P connector No. 3 (BLU)

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Replace the battery sensor .

    NO 

    An open or poor connection in the LIN (BATT SENSOR) wire between the gauge control module and the battery sensor.

  5. Shorted wire check (LIN (BATT SENSOR) line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    Battery sensor 3P connector
    Gauge control module connector A (32P)
    Audio remote-HFL switch 16P connector (without navigation)
    Audio remote/HFL-navigation voice control switch 16P connector (with navigation)

    -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    Battery sensor 3P connector: disconnected
    Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
    Audio remote-HFL switch 16P connector: disconnected *1
    Audio remote/HFL-navigation voice control switch 16P connector: disconnected *2
    Test circuit LIN (BATT SENSOR)
    Test point 1 Battery sensor 3P connector No. 3 (BLU)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    *1: Without navigation

    *2: With navigation

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Repair a short to ground in the LIN (BATT SENSOR) wire between the gauge control module and the battery sensor.

    NO 

    The LIN (BATT SENSOR) wire is not shorted. Go to step 6.

  6. Open wire check (LIN (BATT SENSOR) line)

    -1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    Battery sensor 3P connector: disconnected
    Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
    Audio remote-HFL switch 16P connector: disconnected *1
    Audio remote/HFL-navigation voice control switch 16P connector: disconnected *2
    Test circuit LIN (BATT SENSOR)
    Test point 1 Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 24 (BLU)
    Test point 2 Battery sensor 3P connector No. 3 (BLU)

    *1: Without navigation

    *2: With navigation

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Replace the gauge control module .

    NO 

    An open or poor connection in the LIN (BATT SENSOR) wire between the gauge control module and the battery sensor.
