DTC U3000-49
DTC U3000-49 : Internal Failure of the E-Pretensioner Unit
NOTE:
- Before troubleshooting any of these DTCs, check the battery/system voltage and battery cable connections - Refer to: Battery Test (2014 2015), or Battery Test (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020) . If the voltage is low, repair the charging system, test and charge the battery, or replace the battery before troubleshooting the E-Pretensioner. If the battery/system voltage is OK, ask the client if the battery ever went dead or if the engine was started and run with the battery in a low state of charge. A dead battery may trigger one or more of these DTCs.
- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review General Troubleshooting Information .
- Before replacing the E-pretensioner unit, check the E-pretensioner unit software version with the HDS. If the software version is not the latest, update the E-pretensioner unit software , and retest.
- When you replace the E-pretensioner unit, check the HDS and replace the indicated side of E-pretensioner unit on the HDS.

DTC (E-pretensioner)
- Problem verification
- 1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

YES
Replace the E-pretensioner unit .
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting.
