DTC B00D5-14 (2017 2018 2019 2020)

DTC B00D5-14  : Open or Short to Ground in the Front Passenger's Airbag Cutoff Indicator

NOTE: Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, find out if the vehicle was in a collision. If so, verify that all the required components were replaced with new components of the correct part number and were properly installed .
• Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures , General Troubleshooting Information , and Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection. - Refer to: Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020) .
• If there are other DTCs stored with B00D5-14; troubleshoot them first.

DTC (SRS)

1. Problem verification

   -1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

   - 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.

   - 3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

   DTC Description	DTC
   B00D5-14 Open or short to ground in the front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator

   Is DTC B00D5-14 indicated?

   YES 

   The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.

2. Open wire check (SRS OFF PTT line)

   -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

   - 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the Battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.

   - 3. Disconnect the following connectors.

   Front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness)

   SRS unit connector A (39P)

   - 4. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
   	Front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected
   	SRS unit connector A (39P): disconnected
   Test point 1	SRS unit connector A (39P) No. 28 - Refer to: SRS Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2017 2018 2019 2020),
   Test point 2	Front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector (female terminals) No. 4 (on the dashboard wire harness):

   Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

   YES 

   The SRS OFF PTT wire is not open. Go to step 3.

   NO 

   Open in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness, then clear the DTC.

3. Shorted wire check (SRS OFF PTT line)

   -1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
   	Front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected
   	SRS unit connector A (39P): disconnected
   Test point 1	SRS unit connector A (39P) No. 28 - Refer to: SRS Unit Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2017 2018 2019 2020)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there an open circuit, or at least 1 MΩ?

   YES 

   The SRS OFF PTT wire is OK. Replace the front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator , then clear the DTC, and retest. If the DTC is still present, check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or replace the SRS unit - Refer to: SRS Unit Removal and Installation (2017 2018 2019 2020), .

   NO 

   Short to ground in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness, then clear the DTC.
