DTC B0070-13 (2014 2015 2016)
DTC B0070-13 : Open or Increased Resistance in the Driver's Seat Belt Tensioner
- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures , General Troubleshooting Information , and Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection - Refer to: Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection (2014 2015), or Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection (2016) .
- Before replacing the SRS unit, check the SRS unit software version with the HDS. If the software version is not the latest, update the SRS unit software , and retest.

DTC (SRS)
- Problem verification
-1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.
- 3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B0070-13 Open or increased resistance in the driver's seat belt tensioner Is DTC B0070-13 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures . If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.
- Driver's seat belt tensioner check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.
- 3. Remove the left side B-pillar upper/lower trim.
- 4. Disconnect the following connector.
Driver's seat belt tensioner 2P connector (on the floor wire harness) - 5. Connect terminals A and B with a jumper wire.
Terminal A Driver's seat belt tensioner 2P connector No. 1 (on the floor wire harness) Terminal B Driver's seat belt tensioner 2P connector No. 2 (on the floor wire harness) - 6. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
- 7. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- 8. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.
- 9. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B0070-13 Open or increased resistance in the driver's seat belt tensioner Is DTC B0070-13 indicated?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Open in the driver's seat belt tensioner; replace the driver's seat belt , then clear the DTC.
NOTE: With pins 1 and 2 or the drivers seat belt tensioner jumped together it will code B0070-1A Decreased resistance in the drivers seat belt tensioner. - Open wire check (LRP+, LRP- lines)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.
- 3. Remove the jumper wire from the driver's seat belt tensioner 2P connector on the floor wire harness.
- 4. Disconnect the following connector.
SRS unit connector B (39P) - Refer to: SRS Unit Removal and Installation, - 5. Connect terminals A and B with a jumper wire.
Terminal A SRS unit connector B (39P) No. 24 Terminal B SRS unit connector B (39P) No. 25 - 6. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Driver's seat belt tensioner 2P connector (on the floor wire harness): disconnected SRS unit connector B (39P): disconnected SRS unit connector B (39P) terminals No. 24 and No. 25: jumped Test circuit LRP+, LRP- Test point 1 Driver's seat belt tensioner 2P connector No. 1 (on the floor wire harness) Test point 2 Driver's seat belt tensioner 2P connector No. 2 (on the floor wire harness) Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
The LRP+ and LRP- wires are OK. Faulty SRS unit or poor connection at SRS unit connector B (39P) and the SRS unit. Check the connection; if the connection is OK, replace the SRS unit - Refer to: SRS Unit Removal and Installation (2017 2018 2019 2020), or SRS Unit Removal and Installation . If the DTC does not clear, replace the floor wire harness.
NO
Open in the floor wire harness; replace the floor wire harness, then clear the DTC.
