DTC B0010-11 : Short to Ground in the Front Passenger's Airbag First Inflator DTC B0011-11 : Short to Ground in the Front Passenger's Airbag Second Inflator
Special Tools Required
-SRS Inflator Simulator 07SAZ-TB4011A
-SRS Simulator Lead J 070AZ-SNAA100
- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, find out if the vehicle was in a collision. If so, verify that all the required components were replaced with new components of the correct part number, and that they were properly installed .
- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures , General Troubleshooting Information , and Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection - Refer to: Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020) or Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection (2014 2015) .
- Before replacing the SRS unit, check the SRS unit software version with the HDS. If the software version is not the latest, update the SRS unit software , and retest.

DTC (SRS)
- Problem verification
-1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.
- 3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B0010-11 Short to ground in the front passenger's airbag first inflator B0011-11 Short to ground in the front passenger's airbag second inflator Is DTC B0010-11 or B0011-11 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures . If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.
- Front passenger's airbag inflator check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Remove the glove box.
- 3. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.
- 4. Disconnect the front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector (A) on the dashboard wire harness.
- 5. Connect the terminals of SRS simulator lead J to the SRS inflator simulator (2 Ω connectors), then connect SRS simulator lead J to the front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector on the dashboard wire harness.
- 6. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
- 7. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- 8. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.
- 9. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B0010-11 Short to ground in the front passenger's airbag first inflator B0011-11 Short to ground in the front passenger's airbag second inflator Is DTC B0010-11 or B0011-11 indicated?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Short to ground in the front passenger's airbag first or second inflator; replace the front passenger's airbag , then clear the DTC.
- Shorted wire check (RA1+, RA1-, RA2+, RA2- lines)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.
- 3. Disconnect the following connector.
SRS unit connector A (39P) - Refer to: SRS Unit Removal and Installation (2014 2015 2016) - 4. Disconnect the SRS inflator simulator from SRS simulator lead J. Do not disconnect SRS simulator lead J from the front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector on the dashboard wire harness.
- 5. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected SRS unit connector A (39P): disconnected Front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness): connected to SRS simulator lead J Test circuit RA1+, RA1- Test point 1 SRS simulator lead J red terminal Test point 2 Body ground Test circuit RA2+, RA2- Test point 1 SRS simulator lead J black terminal Test point 2 Body ground Is there an open circuit, or at least 1 MΩ?
YES
The RA1+, RA1-, RA2+, and RA2- wires are OK. Faulty SRS unit or poor connection at SRS unit connector A (39P) and the SRS unit. Check the connection; if the connection is OK, replace the SRS unit - Refer to: SRS Unit Removal and Installation (2014 2015 2016) . If the DTC does not clear, replace the dashboard wire harness.
NO
Short to ground in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness, then clear the DTC.
