DTC B0001-2B : Short to Another Wire Harness in the Driver's Airbag First Inflator
- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, find out if the vehicle was in a collision. If so, verify that all the required components were replaced with new components of the correct part number, and that they were properly installed .
- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures , General Troubleshooting Information , and Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection - Refer to: Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020) or Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection (2014 2015) .
- Before replacing the SRS unit, check the SRS unit software version with the HDS. If the software version is not the latest, update the SRS unit software , and retest.

DTC (SRS)
- Problem verification
-1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.
- 3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B0001-2B Short to another wire harness in the driver's airbag first inflator Is DTC B0001-2B indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures . If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.
- DTC check
-1. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B0010-2B Short to another wire harness in the front passenger's airbag first inflator B0011-2B Short to another wire harness in the front passenger's airbag second inflator B0001-2B Short to another wire harness in the driver's airbag first inflator Is DTC B0010-2B or B0011-2B indicated with DTC B0001-2B?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Go to step 4.
- Shorted wire check (DR INF1 lines to another lines)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.
- 3. Disconnect the following connector.
SRS unit connector A (39P) - Refer to: SRS Unit Removal and Installation (2014 2015 2016) - 4. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

YES
Short to another wire in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness, then clear the DTC.
NO
The DR INF1 wires are OK. Faulty SRS unit or poor connection at SRS unit connector A (39P) and the SRS unit. Check the connection; if the connection is OK, replace the SRS unit - Refer to: SRS Unit Removal and Installation (2014 2015 2016) . If the DTC does not clear, replace the dashboard wire harness.
- Shorted wire check (DR INF1+ line to DR INF2+ line, DR INF1- line to DR INF2- line) 1
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.
- 3. Disconnect the following connector.
SRS unit connector A (39P) - Refer to: SRS Unit Removal and Installation (2014 2015 2016) - 4. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

YES
Go to step 5.
NO
The DR INF1+, DR INF1-, DR INF2+, and DR INF2- wires are OK. Faulty SRS unit or poor connection at SRS unit connector A (39P) and the SRS unit. Check the connection; if the connection is OK, replace the SRS unit - Refer to: SRS Unit Removal and Installation (2014 2015 2016) . If the DTC does not clear, replace the dashboard wire harness.
- Shorted wire check (DR INF1+ line to DR INF2+ line, DR INF1- line to DR INF2- line) 2
-1. Remove the driver's airbag.
- 2. Disconnect the driver's airbag first inflator 2P connector (A) on the cable reel harness.
- 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode SRS unit connector A (39P): disconnected Driver's airbag inflator 2P connector (DR INF1, DR INF2 line) (on the cable reel harness): disconnected Test circuit DR INF1+, DR INF2+ Test point 1 SRS unit connector A (39P) No. 8 Test point 2 SRS unit connector A (39P) No. 4 Test circuit DR INF1-, DR INF2- Test point 1 SRS unit connector A (39P) No. 9 Test point 2 SRS unit connector A (39P) No. 5 Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 6.
NO
The DR INF1+, DR INF1-, DR INF2+, and DR INF2- wires are OK. Faulty driver's airbag first inflator; replace the driver's airbag , then clear the DTC.
- Shorted wire check (DR INF1+ line to DR INF2+ line, DR INF1- line to DR INF2- line) 3
-1. Remove the column covers.
- 2. Disconnect cable reel connector B (4P) on the dashboard wire harness.
- 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode SRS unit connector A (39P): disconnected Driver's airbag inflator 2P connector (DR INF1, DR INF2 lines) (on the cable reel harness): disconnected Cable reel connector B (4P) (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected Test circuit DR INF1+, DR INF2+ Test point 1 SRS unit connector A (39P) No. 8 Test point 2 SRS unit connector A (39P) No. 4 Test circuit DR INF1-, DR INF2- Test point 1 SRS unit connector A (39P) No. 9 Test point 2 SRS unit connector A (39P) No. 5 Is there continuity?
YES
Short to another wire in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness, then clear the DTC.
NO
The DR INF1+, DR INF1-, DR INF2+, and DR INF2- wires are OK. Short to another wire in the cable reel; replace the cable reel , then clear the DTC.
