The SH-AWD indicator does not go off, and no DTCs are stored
NOTE:
- Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the SH-AWD ® System (SH-AWD) (2014 2015), or How to Troubleshoot the SH-AWD ® System (SH-AWD) (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020) .
- Make sure the No. B4 (SVTM-4) (30 A) fuse in the main under-hood fuse box is OK.
- Make sure there are no loose connector terminals at the SH-AWD control unit.
- Make sure the charging system and the battery are OK.
- Make sure the PGM-FI system and the A/T system is not in the middle of updating.
- Problem verification
- 1. Test the battery. Charge or replace the battery if necessary.
- 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode
- 3. Check the COMPLETE MEMORIZATION in the DATA LIST with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC Freeze Frame Does the data list show COMPLETED?
YES
Go to step 2.
NO
Do the SH-AWD system memorization procedure for each of the following, then go to step 2.
- SH-AWD differential clutch torque .
- Yaw rate-lateral/longitudinal acceleration neutral position - Refer to: Yaw Rate-Lateral/Longitudinal Acceleration Neutral Position Memorization (SH-AWD) (2014 2015), or Yaw Rate-Lateral/Longitudinal Acceleration Neutral Position Memorization (SH-AWD) (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020) .
- SH-AWD control unit initialization - Refer to: SH-AWD ® Control Unit Initialization (SH-AWD) (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020) or SH-AWD ® Control Unit Initialization (SH-AWD) (2014 2015) .
- VSA system check
- 1. Check for DTCs in the VSA system with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC Freeze Frame Are any steering angle sensor DTCs indicated?
YES
Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
NO
Go to step 3.
- SH-AWD system check
- 1. Start the engine.
- 2. Check the SH-AWD indicator value with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC Freeze Frame Is the SH-AWD indicator value OFF?
YES
Go to the gauge control module self-diagnostic function - Refer to: Gauges Self-Diagnostic Function (2014 2015) or Gauges Self-Diagnostic Function (2016) or Gauges Self-Diagnostic Function (2017 2018 2019 2020) .
NO
Update the SH-AWD control unit if it does not have the latest software - Refer to: SH-AWD ® Control Unit Update (SH-AWD) (2014 2015) or SH-AWD ® Control Unit Update (SH-AWD) (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020) , or substitute a known-good SH-AWD control unit, - Refer to: SH-AWD ® Control Unit Removal and Installation (SH-AWD) (2014 2015) or SH-AWD ® Control Unit Removal and Installation (SH-AWD) (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020) , and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with the updated SH-AWD control unit, troubleshooting is complete. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good SH-AWD control unit, replace the original SH-AWD control unit - Refer to: SH-AWD ® Control Unit Removal and Installation (SH-AWD) (2014 2015) or SH-AWD ® Control Unit Removal and Installation (SH-AWD) (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020) .
